About the founders

We are George and Yoleetah Ilodi, co-founders of the Medical Education Foundation. Our journey began with a shared passion for improving health outcomes through education and access. As physicians and educators, we’ve seen firsthand how knowledge can empower individuals and transform communities. Together, we founded this organization to bridge healthcare gaps, inspire the next generation of medical leaders and spread the joy of medical education.

Our Dedication to Medical Education

Did you know that only 1 in 10 adults in the U.S. can fully understand and use everyday health information? That means nearly 90% of adults struggle with doctor’s instructions, thus unable to make informed health decisions.  Which leads to:

  • 6 out of 10 adults in the U.S. have at least one chronic disease

  • 4 out of 10 are living with two or more

Many of these conditions—like diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure—can be prevented or better managed with early education and awareness. But the reality is, not everyone has access to the tools and knowledge needed to stay healthy.

At the Medical Education Foundation, we believe communities thrive when people are empowered. That starts with understanding your body, your choices, and your access to care. We're closing the gap with relatable, evidence-based healthcare education that meets people where they are—especially youth, families, and communities often left out of the conversation.

Because when people know better, they can do better. And together, we can prevent illness before it starts.
